Rabbi
Dovid Gottlieb

Managing Director

Rabbi Dovid Gottlieb joined Tzalash as the Managing Director in July 2021. Long passionate about supporting the soldiers, Rabbi Gottlieb became aware – and a fan – of Tzalash when his son served in the Kfir Brigade of the IDF. After seeing the incredible support and assistance that Tzalash provided his son, he chose to join the Tzalash family to help support Israel and its brave defenders.

In addition to his role at Tzalash, Rabbi Gottlieb is also the rabbi of Kehillat HaEla, a growing community in the suburbs of Beit Shemesh. Additionally, he is a lecturer at Yeshivat Har Etzion (Gush), a leading Israeli yeshiva that combines Torah study and army service.

Prior to his aliyah to Israel in August, 2010, Rabbi Gottlieb served as rabbi of Congregation Shomrei Emunah, in Baltimore, MD.

Rabbi Gottlieb received his rabbinic ordination from Yeshiva University, where he was also a member of their prestigious Wexner Kollel Elyon. In addition to other scholarly publications, he is the author of Ve-Ha’Er Einenu, a two volume collection (out of a planned five volume series) of essays on the weekly Torah portion which is distributed to soldiers throughout the IDF.

A highly regarded speaker and teacher, Rabbi Gottlieb has served as a Scholar in Residence for numerous communities in the United States, Canada, England, South Africa, and Israel.

Rabbi Gottlieb is married to Ilana and they are blessed with four children.
