Itzik Avitan (Colonel, Res.) spent more than 20 years in full-time service in the IDF. First serving as a combat soldier, Itzik subsequently assumed numerous leadership positions, serving as a commander in the Golani Brigade, as the Deputy Brigade Commander in the Etzion Regional Brigade, and eventually serving as the Commander of the Central Command’s Combat Training School.
After his retirement from the IDF he joined Tzalash and became the director
of programming and operations. In 2025 Itzik became CEO of Tzalash.
Itzik and his wife are blessed with four children and live on Moshav Hazorim in northern Israel.
